Nesia 006

**********
A new outfit wins.  Though I really like your suggestions.  Very good ideas.  Oh, and I do apologize for not updating at a consistent time on Mondays.  My current work schedule means I either update really early in the morning, or really late in the evening.  Still, just know that it will be posted for reading enjoyment sometime on Monday.  Now, on with the show.

“I need a new outfit,” Nesia said, trying to sound rich and detached.  It felt easier than she thought it would have been.  Maybe she was born to wealth.  “In fact, I think I might want a new style entirely.”
“Of course,” the assistant manager said, her hand already issuing orders on the wall screen.  “Your personal shopper will purchase and deliver within the hour.”
A personal shopper and fashion expert.  Rich people really did have everything without having to put much effort into their wants.  Nesia stepped into the elevator as she tried to think of something else to order just for fun.  Something ridiculous just to see if they would get it.  Or maybe something perfectly delightful.  A massage sounded ideal after a week in a hospital.
“I think I might want to do some redecoration,” Nesia said, keeping the elevator doors from closing for a moment.  “New curtains, linens, furniture.  Yes, it’s time for a fresh start.  Send the manager up in three hours so I can discuss the changes with him.”
“Of course, madam.”  The assistant manager was clearly caught off guard, but quickly recovered.  “I will immediately contact Manager Tyben to return from his meeting.”
Nesia let the door slide close and smiled.  If she was Kate, then she had the money to spend on anything.  Money would not be able to buy back her memories, but it certainly could not hurt to give it a little try.  The lift stopped and the doors gave a merry chime as they opened.
A hallway surrounded the elevator.  On this level, there were only four rooms.  All fancy penthouse suites.  Nesia found she knew which one was hers without having to look at the room card.  Answers would be in that suite, and the door would not unlock fast enough as she hurried inside.
“What the…?”  She could not find the word to describe the gaudy display before her.
A beaded curtain of crystals and silver chimes hung in front of her, and beyond that the main room of the suite was gilded with gold, silver and more shiny baubles.  There was absolutely no theme to the room other than an ostentatious display of wealth.  Nesia could even see an ornate cat house through the curtain.  That was going to be the first thing to go.
Nesia moved the curtain aside, the chimes ringing out a memory.  She had purposely had the curtain added.  The chimes were loud, and no one coming through the entry way would be able to avoid it.  No one would be able to sneak in on her.
It was a little disturbing to think that she was that paranoid, but Nesia was positive she had a logical explanation for it.  She just could not remember what it was.  Still, worrying about that could wait.  Nesia hurried to the bedroom and came face to face with a closet that was worth more than the suite itself.  Everything was name brand and ridiculously frilly or else pantsuits.
“Congratulations,” Nesia said as she picked a pastel blue top with lacey paisleys all over it.  “You are the least offending.”
She changed quickly, but really wished she had a pair of comfortable jeans.  The top itself was not bad.  Just take off all of the lace.  Something she might do depending on what the stylist brought up.
Tucked inside the closet, next to the ridiculously expensive yet gorgeous shoes, were two safes.  One was a generic hotel safe with a digital keypad for the code, something provided in every room for the storing of valuables.  The other safe was a little larger than the hotel safe and the lock was far more complicated.  There was a dial combination, a key pad combination, and it looked like voice activation was also required.
Nesia studied the safes briefly, but the combinations did not come to mind.  She could not even begin to guess at the contents.  With a sigh she checked her watch.  Her ordered lunch and new outfit would arrive in probably thirty minutes.  She needed to find something to do in the meantime.

**********
What should she do?

1…explore the rest of the suite?
2…investigate the safes more?
3…find her phone?
